DAY 1: Secunet showcases its electronic passenger screening solution

At Passenger Terminal Expo 2022, Secunet is showcasing its electronic passenger screening solution, Easygate.

Secunet’s Easygate electronically checks the authenticity of electronic identity documents such as passports and personal IDs. With this solution, the company intends to improve the efficiency and security of biometrics and facial recognition at border control. It does this by identifying morphing attacks, in which fraudsters make use of ID photos assembled from the facial images of more than one person.

The Easygate system incorporates a user interface that is designed to be intuitive and thus increase passenger throughput. Additionally, Secunet’s conformity with the relevant standards has been ensured to make the design futureproof. As a component of modern automated border control infrastructures, it uses presentation attack detection to speed up Entry/Exit Systems (EES) at air borders. The company also sees applications for this border control tech with airport health checks (Covid-19 tests, vaccine certificates) and visa inspections (checking barcodes by airlines).

Speaking at the show, Georg Hasse, head of international sales for division homeland security at Secunet Security Networks, commented, “Several hundred Secunet Easygates are currently deployed throughout Europe helping airports and border agencies every day to securely accelerate border control processes. Ultimately all involved stakeholders greatly benefit from faster processing times: the airport, the border police and the passenger. We are looking forward to showing our all-new Easygate throughout Passenger Terminal Expo, one of the most important and prolific exhibitions in our market space, where all important industry players get together."
