At this year’s Passenger Terminal EXPO, WO Airport will launch a new design protocol for the Automated Tray Return System (ATRS). This includes design elements that are intended to enhance the look and feel of the security checkpoint. Passenger experience is a necessary part of the checkpoint configuration, and the company has a new interpretation of standard components. While linoleum, due to its robust qualities, will remain a common option, new materials such as marble, glass and integrated illumination will be revealed. The security checkpoint is no longer seen as an isolated area at the airport; matching its design to the overall design of the terminal in terms of color scheme and choice of materials will allow natural flow in the passenger journey. It takes the architectural inspiration one step further and allows a smoother crossover from landside to airside.
