London-based public seating specialists OMK Design will launch their latest product Metro, a geometric modular system, at Passenger Terminal Expo.
Manufactured using molded ply panels to form a continuous sculptured seat, whilst maintaining consistent gaps throughout, the panels enclose the rear of the seat enabling multi-directional layouts on the same axis. The materials and finishes selected reflect a natural palette, whilst retaining the durability that OMK is known for. Metro’s seamless form uses curved and straight modules, the low profile designed to provide maximum visibility of the built environment, encouraging retail footfall to boost non-aviation revenue.
The system also includes an integral table, a backless bench that can operate as a luggage stand, alongside planters and integrated technology. These features have been designed to decrease stress levels as passengers relax whilst using spaces for longer. This approach promotes passenger well-being and provides the freedom to create bespoke layouts that are proven to improve flow, reduce congestion and in turn create more useable spaces.
