Poltrona Frau has signed with some of the most remarkable airports around the world including Tokyo’s Narita Airport, the Cathay Pacific Lounge in Honk Kong – designed by Foster + Partners – Alitalia Lounges and the Italian airports of Fontanarossa in Catania and the Guglielmo Marconi airport in Bologna.

Aetos, Onda and Fly-Air are the three different seating systems designed by Poltrona Frau for airports, in cooperation with three internationally renowned designers, EOOS, Lella and Massimo Vignelli, and Progetto CMR. The seating systems are modular, to fully satisfy needs for comfort, style and the technological requirements of the traveling public.

Today, the seating systems are also available in special polyurethane foam. This type of material is particularly suitable for public areas due to its antibacterial properties.

As well as being a lightweight flexible material, with high abrasion resistance and superior mechanical properties, this two-component polyurethane foam system is resistant to wet cleaning and bacterial activity, while maintaining the minimum environmental criteria established by the Italian environment and the sea protection ministry.
