Power Stow will showcase its innovative transfer belt that assists in unloading baggage and cargo from containers and baggage carts to the arrival belt in the sorting area. It is designed to transfer bags from various types of containers and carts onto the conveyor belt.

According to the company, using the transfer belt reduces baggage handlers’ workloads. Heavy twisting and lifting movements become obsolete, so operators can enjoy easier workdays and are more productive.

The operator uses one-third of the lifting force when pulling the bags onto the transfer belt compared with equipment that requires lifting and twisting. This semi-automatic unloading method reduces the risk of back and shoulder injuries, reportedly resulting in better working conditions and less sick leave. This unloading technology facilitates faster baggage handling and continuous performance even during peak periods. Using the transfer belt, a single operator can handle a large number of items efficiently and ergonomically.

The transfer belt also makes the baggage handling gentler. The operator simply slides the bags onto the transfer belt, which then guides them onto the conveyor belt. The risk of damage to baggage is considerably lower, leading to reduced costs and more satisfied passengers.

The transfer belt is a retrofittable device and an add-on to new or existing arrival belts.
